I was born and raised in Jamaica, W.I. and emigrated to the United States few months after 9/11. Still to this day I carry the "Irie Vibe" with me and the Jamaican saying "we likkle but we tallawah." Meaning, we are small but strong-willed and refuse to be restrained by the boundaries of a small island.
Perhaps it's that mindset that has led me to this adventure in entrepreneurship and personal development specifically. Through this adventure I realize that self-care plays a big part in personal development. If one is striving to develop themselves through whatever path they choose, they are in essence taking care of their well-being. Many women somehow forget how badass they really are during this process.
It was during a major setback in my life, that I became cognizant of the fact that this is the main reason why women give up or settle for less. They might have been embarrassed, ashamed, felt vulnerable and insecure and choose within those moments to recede. I've discovered that it is during those hard times that one should pick up the pace, aim higher still, vibrate higher, set higher goals, do more and try harder, instead of retreating.
This is the psychology I understand and believe why I've been effective.
Having a Master's in Psychology but an incomplete doctorate doesn't necessarily sums up my educational background, because as an entrepreneur learning is an ongoing process.
